Translation and Interpretation: the two components of effective global communications

The ability to communicate clearly is the cornerstone of successful business partnerships that cross national, cultural and linguistic borders. In the technology industry – where nuances of language and shades of meaning can seem so minute, yet have such broad implications – clear, fast and accurate communications between partners is essential.

Translation converts written text from the source language to the target language.

The translator must be fluent in the source language, and must be thoroughly familiar with any specialized business and / or technical material involved in the project. The source material must be re-written in the target language, which requires the skills, accuracy, jargons and natural style of a native speaker.

We provide all three categories of translation services

  1. General translation, which requires the strong vocabulary, grammatical and style mastery of a native speaker
  2. Business translation, for which the native speaker must be familiar with business terminology, document types and writing style
  3. Technical translation, for which the native speaker must also be expert in industry-specific terminology, technical documents types, and technical writing.

Interpretation converts the spoken word from the source language to the target language.

The translator must be fluent in the source language, in the specialized technical material as well as in the target language. The skills and natural conversational style of a native speaker are required to facilitate building the personal and professional rapport that makes any business partnership work.

We provide the two key types of interpretation services

  1. Simultaneous interpretation: The speaker’s words are interpreted while he / she is speaking. It’s used for public events, face-to-face meetings, or other situations where the communication flow must be immediate and unbroken.
  2. Consecutive interpretation: The speaker’s words are interpreted at the end of each sentence. It’s most suitable for those situations where flow can be somewhat compromised in favour of precise accuracy.
